Google Adwords Report Center Emails To Be Discontinued

October 11, 2010

I received the following alert today while running reports in the Google Adwords Report Center.

Adwords Report Center Emails To Be Discontinued

Adwords Report Center Emails To Be Discontinued

From Google:

Report Center Emails

Report Center Emails

As I wrote yesterday, Google has effectively killed the Report Center by migrating all but one report’s availability from the Report Center.

While discontinuation of emails from the Report Center emails may signal the Report Center’s ultimate demise, Adwords users can still generate and email reports from the Control Panel and Library within their Adwords accounts.

Google Adwords Reports Now Just A Report?

October 10, 2010

Running regular paid search campaign reports for clients is a must for anyone in the paid search business.

Since its inception, Google’s Adword Report Center has been the place where paid search managers went to generate the client data they needed.

While I received notice some time ago in my Adwords accounts Google was planning on updating its Adwords Report Center, it wasn’t until today that I noticed they have already all but phased out report creation and generation from the Adwords Report Center.

It appears only one report is presently available from the Adwords Report Center – the Reach and Frequency Performance Report.

All the Report Center’s previously available reports must now be generated from within the respective AdWords account.

To generate Adwords reports, find the download report icon next to the Adwords search box, input your parameters and create a report..

Facebook Experiment Ended

October 9, 2010

I opened my Facebook account several years ago and today I effectively closed it.

Facebook

Facebook

Why?

The one or two friend requests I accepted lead to even more requests from people I wasn’t really interested in becoming acquainted or reacquainted with.

Although Facebook makes unfriending a difficult, labor intense process, I was able to strip my account down to its minimum requirements – a Name and Birthday.

This minimalist account data should end any future unwanted Facebook “friend” requests and thus my Facebook experiment.

Google Webmaster Tools: Top 20 Site Keywords

October 8, 2010

If you haven’t installed Google Webmaster Tools on your site, I highly recommend doing so.

Combined together – data from Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics and Google Adwords, provide actionable insight from three different and valuable perspectives.

After posting here for over 730 days in a row, I have decided to take a moment and reflect on what kind of traffic and results my site has produced during that time period.

Overall, I am happy with both my content product and the results it has produced.

However, going forward I want to apply all of the  insight and knowledge I have gained from having remained on task.

Since I didn’t start out with an editorial calender let alone a content plan when I began blogging , I thought I would use the Google Webmaster’s Tool Top 20 Site Keywords data to see what it is exactly I have been writing about for the last several years. I have a general idea, but Google’s data has specific ideas about the nature of my site.

Fortunately, the Top 20 Site Keywords tool reveals a theme consistent with my consulting practice focus vis-a-vis the keywords most often found and thus associated with this site.

Here are the top 20 keywords associated with the Search Marketing Communications domain and blog –

Granted, without a formalized content plan  – the subject matter found within this blog could be considered wide and not necessarily focused.

Going forward, I plan to continue writing about the above subjects while also covering some of the following topics not in any particular order –
