WordPress: When Will My WordPress Blogs Have Tweetmeme Built In?

Recently WordPress added a “Publicize” button to their blogs so publishers could Tweet their posts directly to their Twitter accounts.

Isn’t it now time for WordPress to add a “Socialize” button to their bloggers dashboards?

Self hosted WordPress publishers can add plugins like those from Tweetmeme to let their visitors Tweet blog links to the Twitter audience.

However, WordPress hosted blogs lack any type of plugin tools for bloggers who want to enable their visitors to share their discoveries via Tweets beyond the WordPress walls.

Adding a Tweetmeme feature to WordPress bloggers dashboards and in turn their blogs would surely have a network doubling effect on the WordPress.com audience.

According to its site, TwitterAnalyzer.com is the most advanced Twitter account analytics system in the world.

I am not sure how their claim can be confirmed, however their site does parse Twitter account data into segments I hadn’t yet seen.

Twitter Analyzer users can view an account by Tweets, Chats, Popularity, Reach, Subjects, HashTags, Links and Apps.

Under Trends, searchers can investigate Twitter updates in four different time categories: Right Now, Today, This Week and This Month.

From a marketers perspective, longer term #Hashtag tweet activity revealed in This Week and This Month data shows which Tweets have sustained the most consistent share of voice on Twitter.

Sorting Trends by shorter time frames Right now and Today reveal the transitory nature of human attention.

Searching by Tags provides another rich source of Twitter data.

Although the data set collected by Twitter is nowhere near the size Google collects and then make available through it Adwords Keyword Suggestion Tool, Hashtags.org appears to provide a statistically relevant sample of Tweeted keywords occurring @Twitter.

I am looking forward to applying this new found data toward reaching more of the Twitter Audience.

Although real time search is one of the many heralded utilities of Twitter, it seems the average consumer’s attention isn’t quite as focused in the present as Twitter’s search results are – at least at this particular moment in time.

According to Twitter’s trending topics: Easter is the most popular topic of conversation in the Twitterverse – this Tuesday two days after Easter Sunday.

Twitter has begun testing real time inline search within some Twitter accounts.

From the Twitter blog:

Currently, a small subset of Twitter users are trying this new search feature in the sidebar of their Twitter home page. When you do a search, you don’t go to another page, the relevant tweets instantly show up where you’d expect them to—right on your home page where tweets love to be.

I have the new Twitter search box in my account and find its inline search results much more convenient and practical.
