December 28, 2009AT&T’s iPhone Real Time Public Relations Nightmare
December 27, 2009AT&T has reportedly stopped selling iPhones in New York to limit the smart phones bandwidth consumption on their network.
Being Sunday night in between major holidays, its unlikely AT&T – a large and sluggish corporate behemoth – is aware what’s happening to their brand’s reputation in Google’s real time search – let alone
what’s being Tweeted in the Twitterverse.

December 25, 2009Duplicating Twitter Accounts To Drive Page Views?
December 24, 2009I noticed a bunch of funky Retweets yesterday in my Twitter account.
However, they weren’t true Retweets because each were constructed with RT @ -timcohn which effectively deletes an original Retweeter from appearing in the Retweet stream.
Each account had a woman’s name along with an attractive picture.
Each account also had the exact same number of Tweets (1952).
Although I have an idea why Retweeters may be stripped from a Retweet Stream, I have no idea why someone would take the time to duplicate a bunch of Twitter accounts and then send traffic to a wide variety of non related non montizeable sites.
Any ideas?
About Communications
December 23, 2009I received the following comment from an acquaintance regarding succeeding in the communications field:
Someday over lunch maybe you can enlighten me on how to thrive doing this work.
The following was my short answer to his question.
1. You have to know your audience and how to reach or be reached by them.
2. You have to understand how your solution(s) correspond to their problems.
3. The audience has to trust you and what you say.
4. They have want/need, prefer and pay for what you offer over any of their other alternatives.
What Can Google Do To Help Your Advertising?
December 22, 2009Apparently the employees at Heartland Publications did not see or answer Google’s ad before they filed for bankruptcy.
I am not sure Google’s answer would have helped Heartland Publications anyway: “Get in a time machine, disinvent the internet and then sell ads off all the world’s content.”
